Hillcats Dump Wilmington, 5-2, to Win 5th in a Row
|
Lynchburg starter Zach Miller pitched well against the Wilmington Blue Rocks at Calvin Falwell Field. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-2. In 7 innings, Miller surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs. Picking up the save was 27-year old right-handed pitcher Shamar Bloxson.
The Hillcats got a big at-bat from center fielder Dusty Green. For the game, Green was 1 for 5 with a home run. In the bottom of the third, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Lynchburg a 2-1 lead.
"Zach had good stuff. When he did get into a compromising count, he made the most of it," said Lynchburg manager Matt Craig.
The second-place Hillcats have a record of 74-37.
