White Sox Fall Short at Houston, 7-6
|
Chicago (A) third baseman César Otero had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Otero was 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice, even as Houston beat the White Sox, 7-6. Mike Schultz snagged the win in relief. In 1.2 innings, the right-hander allowed no runs on no hits. He's now 1-0 on the season. The White Sox drop to 12-19.
Houston took a 7-5 lead on Ángelo Guzmán's 11th home run of the season. The grand slam home run came off Chicago (A) pitcher António Sánchez in the bottom of the eighth.
"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Guzmán told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
