Rodríguez Hits for the Cycle
Getting 4 hits is a good day by any measure, but when those include a single, double, triple and a home run -- that's something special. Octávio Rodríguez's day was a special one.

The right fielder hit for the cycle to spark the DSL Tampa Bay Rays to a 21-4 victory over the DSL Toronto Blue Jays at Skyhawks Ballpark today. DSL Tampa Bay manager said he thought the whole lineup looked good in batting practice, but had not been expecting anything extraordinary from Rodríguez in particular.

"Octávio caught me by surprise today," the skipper said. "He looked good before the game, but man, he looked unbelievable during it."

For the day, Rodríguez finished with 3 RBI and 3 runs scored to go with his 4 hits.

Octávio Rodríguez hit a two-run home run off Jesús Maldonado in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, hit an RBI triple in the 6th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.

Currently Rodríguez is batting .194 with 3 home runs, 18 RBIs and 16 runs scored.
