Today was Billy Laitinen's turn in the rotation for the Winston-Salem Dash and he made the most of it, shutting out the Wilmington Blue Rocks on 7 hits.

The 26-year-old right-hander led the Dash to an easy 8-0 victory, allowing no walks and tallying 11 strikeouts.

"I hope we miss him next time," Wilmington manager said. "Laitinen certainly pitched a strong game against us today. He was in a groove, throwing everything for strikes. Throwing hard. Changing speeds."
