The Cincinnati Reds defeated the Colorado Rockies, 6-4, at Coors Field. Ron Anderson was one of the standouts for Cincinnati. His 3 hits included 1 single and 2 triples, in addition to the 1 run he scored and 2 he knocked in. Sergio Acuña, 2-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. Anderson had a game-changing triple in the top of the ninth. On a 2-0 fastball from Ánibal Cordero, he banged a 2-run triple to left-center, giving the Reds a 6-4 lead. It was the 3rd triple of the year for Anderson.

"We'll enjoy this win for now, but it's just one," Anderson told local reporters. "We've got to keep it going."
