Texas and Kansas City duked it out and the Rangers came out victorious.

Kansas City left fielder Kade Brown had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Brown went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2, even as Texas beat the Royals, 9-6. Texas now has a 3-game win streak.

Texas used the timely hitting of Elijah Malone to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Rangers on top, 7-6. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We got the victory," said Malone. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
