The Chicago (N) Cubs eked out a 3-2 win versus the Colorado Rockies at Wrigley Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Mike McDonald. He was terrific. Chicago (N) reliever Norbert Williams was the winner. His record is now 2-3. The losing pitcher was Ethan Byrne. With the win over Colorado, the Cubs improved to 20-22.

The clutch hit was provided by Augusto Guerra. He delivered a walk-off run-scoring double off Ethan Byrne in the bottom of the tenth.

"Bottom line," said Colorado skipper Alvin Kaufmann, "we didn't play well enough to win."
