Reed Homers Twice in 6-2 Giants Win
San Francisco center fielder Johnny Reed helped his team beat the Cincinnati Reds, 6-2. Reed, who is tied for 4th in the NL in RBI with 32, went 2 for 3 for the Giants. Bob Riley, the winner, improved to 4-2. He held Cincinnati to 2 runs on 2 hits over 8.1 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. Cincinnati's current losing streak is now 5 games.

With San Francisco leading 2-0 in the top of the fourth, Reed hit a curveball from Juan Salinas for a 2-run home run. It was his 13th home run of the season and put the Giants ahead, 4-0.

"I like the roll we're on," said San Francisco manager Robert Perinka.
