Victory Takes Red Sox to 30-16
|
The home crowd came to cheer on their first-place Boston Red Sox.
Boston picked up a win at Fenway Park, bumping off the Toronto Blue Jays, 5-3. Pitcher Steve Lindsey was a major reason the Red Sox emerged victorious. Lindsey, now 6-2, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 12, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Ron Olson was called on to finish, recording his 5th save.
Making an impact for the home team was Abel Scott. In the bottom of the fifth, the two-time All-Star had a run-scoring walk. That made the score 3-1, Red Sox.
"Got a lot of swings and misses today," said Lindsey.
With the win, Boston has a record of 30-16. Toronto falls to 24-22.
