Good production from left fielder Del England helped the Pittsburgh Pirates topple the Toronto Blue Jays, 5-2. England went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Pirates. Damian Wiley finished the game for Pittsburgh and earned his 15th save. With the win, the Pirates improved to 29-20.

Ken Quebell, the fan favorite , had a direct impact on the outcome. Quebell contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth inning to put Pittsburgh up, 1-0.
