Giants Fall to Blue Jays, 6-5
|
The Toronto Blue Jays beat the San Francisco Giants, 6-5, at AT&T Park. Toronto shortstop Jeremy Baker collected 2 singles and 1 double, while driving in 3 runs. The winning pitcher was Joe Walkup. He's now 4-3. He went 7 innings, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits for the Blue Jays. The second-place Blue Jays improved to 27-23.
Baker had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the top of the second inning, when he hit a bases-clearing double. The Blue Jays went on to win.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Baker told the Toronto Daily.
