Everything was working for Iván Souza today at Philadelphia Phillies Complex. He had the perfect delivery. The ball was moving. The knuckle curve was working.

In an unforgettable performance, the 25-year-old Souza fanned 17 Phillies and sparked the DSL Kansas City Royals to a 8-2 victory over DSL Philadelphia. He left Phillies hitters mumbling and muttering at the plate. And when he needed a strikeout, he got it.

"I don't know if there are many times that I've seen him throw better," said DSL Kansas City manager . "His location and command were really something."

In addition to collecting 17 strikeouts over 7.1 innings, Souza allowed 3 hits and 1 walk in a superlative outing.

"I thought I'd make it easy on the guys today," Souza said with a smile.

Up to now Souza has recorded a record of 5-0. In 6 starts he has fanned 85 batters in 37.2 innings with a 0.48 ERA.
