Chicago (N) Cubs starter Mike McDonald turned in a sterling performance against the Cincinnati Reds, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. In 6.1 innings, McDonald surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. With the win over Cincinnati, the Cubs improved to 32-40.
In the bottom of the third, Chicago (N) designated hitter Tim Walsh had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 3rd and one out, Walsh stroked a run-scoring single to left. It made the score 3-2, Chicago (N). For the game, he was 1-4.
