Brewers Down Cardinals, 6-1
|
St. Louis had no answer for Milwaukee Brewers starter Orlando Bernard, who flummoxed Cardinals hitters as the Brewers cruised to victory, 6-1. The win was credited to Albert Hernández in relief. His record improves to 5-1. Ernesto Urbina took the loss. The Brewers go to 38-37, putting them second in the National League Central Division.
Milwaukee used a timely hit from Josh Forrest to get the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Brewers ahead, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Forrest told the Milwaukee Times. "Whatever it takes."
