Blue Jays Find a Way to Win
|
Oakland got a terrific performance from designated hitter Devin Hogan, but it wasn't enough to beat the Toronto Blue Jays. Toronto won the O.co Coliseum contest, 3-2. Hogan threw 7.1 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Jorge Rivera earned the save for Toronto, his 20th. The last-place Blue Jays sport a record of 37-43.
Toronto used the timely hitting of Jeremy Young to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Blue Jays on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"The game of baseball will test you," said Koty Kochan, the Toronto skipper. "This one tested us."
