Grasshoppers Advance to Round 2
The Greensboro Grasshoppers "proved we can handle pressure" by beating the Round 1 and eliminating the Winston-Salem Dash, according to series MVP Bob Vélez.

"This is the big stage, we're off to the Round 2 and looking towards the Round 2," he said. "There's a lot of pressure at this time of year and it's only going to get more intense from here. But I think we can handle it just fine."

Greensboro won the final game 2-1, to wrap up the series 4-1.

Vélez led his team to the series win by putting up a .429 average, with a .455 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 8 runs.

The Greensboro Grasshoppers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Bowling Green Hot Rods - Aberdeen Ironbirds series. Bowling Green leads the series 3 games to 2. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
