Dave Stratford said he expected the Round 1 to be "a battle from start to finish."

In the end, it was nothing more than a minor skirmish, as the Lakeland Flying Tigers encountered little resistance in sweeping the Bradenton Marauders, to advance to the Round 2.

"It may have been a sweep, but it still was a tough series," said Stratford.

Lakeland won the final game by a 5-3 count and were led in the series by Stratford, who was named MVP. On the series, he hit .375 with 2 home runs. He also drove in 4 RBI and scored 4 runs.

The Lakeland Flying Tigers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Palm Beach Cardinals - Daytona Tortugas series. Daytona leads the series 3 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
