Kannapolis Defeats Salem

At a time when his players were using words like "incredible" and "amazing" to describe the club's 16th Round 2 title, Kannapolis Cannon Ballers manager could only call it "strange."
"It just feels weird," he said in a raucous clubhouse at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium. "It feels like we're just following through on something that was supposed to happen. Whenever something went sideways, it didn't surprise us. We truly believed we would win."
Kannapolis completed its magical run to the Round 2 title today with a 4-0 triumph over the Salem Red Sox. In the regular season, Kannapolis notched a 124-16 mark and took first place in the Central Division standings.
And how does it feel to lose the Round 2?
"Your heart is heavy and your stomach is empty," said a dejected Salem skipper . "It's the lowest of lows when you lose."
