While it wasn't a complete mismatch, the ACL Chicago (A) White Sox showed themselves to be the superior team in the Round 2, downing the ACL Pittsburgh Pirates 4-2.
"Nothing is ever easy in the Arizona Complex League playoffs. Whether you're a favorite or an underdog, you can't take anyone lightly or you'll get burned," said Zane Nielsen, who was named series MVP after a standout offensive performance.
ACL Chicago (A) won the final game by a 6-0 count at Hacksaws Ballpark to clinch its spot in the next round.
They will hope to once again rely on Nielsen there, as he hit .381 with 4 home runs, 9 RBI 8 runs scored during the series.
The ACL Chicago (A) White Sox will play against the ACL Tampa Bay Rays in the next round. ACL Tampa Bay won their series against the ACL Arizona Diamondbacks 4 games to 0. The Round 3 schedule will be announced after the Round 2 finishes.
