Cleveland Bats Go Silent in 3-0 Loss

The Cleveland Guardians and Kansas City Royals were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The Kansas City Royals defeated the Cleveland Guardians by the score of 3-0. Joe Jacobson starred for Kansas City, going 3-for-4 with 1 home run. Ed Bunney, the winner, improved to 5-4. He held the Guardians to no runs on 2 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 3.
Kansas City took the lead on Jacobson's 11th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which came against Alex Mills in the top of the sixth, made the score 3-0, Kansas City.
"I give credit to my teammates for this win. We got it done," Jacobson told the Kansas City Daily News.
The win lifted the Kansas City record to 45-39.
