Nationals Down Giants, 4-3
|
The Washington Nationals did just enough to secure a victory over the San Francisco Giants, 4-3, at AT&T Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Ed Ray. The save was credited to Tuu-ko-ihu Kaleo, his 8th. At 48-37, the Nationals find themselves in first place in the National League Eastern Division.
Washington relied on the bat of Brad Numbers to get the win. The designated hitter produced a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Nationals ahead, 2-0. For the game, Numbers had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"It was a good effort all around," said Ray.
