Big Day for Stokes as Rangers Down Angels, 8-6
The home crowd had a good time watching the Los Angeles (A) Angels and Texas Rangers get after it.

Rod Stokes was a major contributor to the 8-6 Texas win over Los Angeles (A). The Rangers second baseman hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Mike Crawford got credit for the win, improving to 3-13. He allowed 3 runs on 9 hits in 7.2 innings. Giustiniano DiGrande nailed down his 1st save.

Stokes made an early impact for Texas when he stroked his 7th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which came in the bottom of the second, put the Rangers on top, 3-0.

"I'm not out here to win a beauty contest," said Stokes. "Obviously."

The last-place Rangers improved to 39-59.
