Twins Snatch Late Win
The Minnesota Twins beat the Chicago (A) White Sox, 6-4. Minnesota pitcher and Jonesboro, Arkansas, native Gil Warner led the way. The win was credited to Lúcio Barrios in relief. His record improves to 5-2. António Sánchez took the loss. Dan Sears recorded the save for Minnesota, his 9th of the season.

Minnesota relied on the bat of Chris Porter to get the win. The third baseman ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Twins ahead, 6-4. For the game, Porter had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Porter told the Minnesota Observer. "But we take nothing for granted."

The second-place Twins raised their record to 54-45.
