Cubs Pick Up 4-2 Road Win Over Carolina
The Chicago (N) Cubs picked up a win at Carolina Grounds, knocking off the Carolina Catamounts, 4-2. On the mound for Chicago (N) was right-hander Mike McDonald, who played a pivotal role in the win. The third-place Cubs are 49-53.

Chicago (N) used a well-timed hit by Ismael Gutiérrez to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Cubs ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"I thought we played a nice game," Gutiérrez told the Chicago (N) Herald. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
