Tigers Edge Kansas City in Pitching Duel
|
The Detroit Tigers picked up a win at Kauffman Stadium, knocking off the Kansas City Royals, 1-0. Starting pitcher Ken Bass was a big reason why. Jorge Rosa recorded the save, his 35th. With the win, Detroit goes to 67-43, while the Royals fall to 59-51.
Detroit grabbed control in the top of the sixth. With two out and a runner on 2nd, Gene Keys delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 1-0 in favor of the Tigers.
"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said Kansas City manager Tyler Masters.
