Reds Suffer 5-3 Setback
|
Cincinnati got a big-time effort from pitcher Sam Santos, but it wasn't enough to keep the Carolina Catamounts from winning the game, 5-3. Santos threw 8.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. The winner was António Montoya in relief. His record improves to 4-10. Wilson Jiménez took the loss. Liam Dealey converted his 28th save in 34 tries.
Carolina relied on the bat of Bernardo Galván to get the win. The right fielder ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Catamounts ahead, 5-3. For the game, Galván had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"It was a good effort all around," said Galván.
The 'W' lifts Carolina's record to 41-70.
