Bombers Need Extra Frames to Get Past Nationals
Jacksonville starter Masami Ishikawa had a strong outing against the Washington Nationals at Nationals Park. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 4-2 win. The winner was Alex Simmons in relief. His record improves to 5-4. Tuu-ko-ihu Kaleo took the loss. Jacksonville's record now stands at 41-72, placing them last in the National League Southern Division.

Jacksonville used the timely hitting of Jeremie Gentileschi to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Bombers on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Bombers manager Kevin Tucker. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
