The 7-4 Carolina win over Minnesota was due in large part to Sean Manley. The Catamounts third baseman went 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. Sandy Thompson earned the win for Carolina. He lasted 7.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 9 hits, while striking out 8. With the win, he raised his record to 7-10. Liam Dealey collected save number 31.

Manley contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Carolina in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 2-1, Manley took a fastball from Chad Foster and stroked the home run to right. His 5th home run of the season allowed the Catamounts to leap in front, 3-2.

"We played hard and won," said Manley. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'

Carolina is now 47-75, while Minnesota is 65-57.
