The Minnesota Twins defeated the Oakland Athletics, 9-1, in American League action at Target Field. Minnesota pitcher Bud Miller had a standout performance. The win elevated the Twins to 67-61.

The Twins got a big hit from left fielder Del England. In the bottom of the fifth, England pounded a bases-clearing double to center. His 27th double of the season put the Twins ahead, 5-1.
