The Padres grabbed a win, 4-3, at Padres Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from Texas pitcher Cliff Townsend. Townsend went 6.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. Mexico City is now 71-59.

The Padres relied on second baseman Jesús García for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the tenth, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Texas manager . "The effort was great."
