Jones Shines in 8-2 Cincinnati Win
The Cincinnati Reds thumped the Boston Red Sox, 8-2, at Fenway Park. Joe Jones was a big reason his team got the win. Jones went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. Cincinnati pitcher Duane O'Dell got the win, upping his record to 9-15. Jimmy Sharp got the loss. Bob Adams converted his 2nd save in 3 tries.

In the top of the third, with the game still scoreless, Jones hit a 2-run single to put his team in the lead.

"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Jones said in reaction to the win.

Cincinnati currently is in last place in the National League Central Division at 55-86.
