Athletics Improve to 74-67 with 7-1 Win
|
Oakland Athletics starter Norberto Ramírez was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Carolina Catamounts, 7-1. Ramírez got the win, improving to 13-7. He allowed 4 hits and walked 2 over 5.2 innings. Ramírez allowed 1 run. Jesús Romo earned the save, his 2nd.
Oakland relied on the bat of Eric Davis to get the win. The first baseman ripped a 2-run triple in the top of the second inning to put the Athletics ahead, 4-0. For the game, Davis had 1 double and 2 triples in 5 at-bats.
"It's easier to pitch when you get run support," said Ramírez.
Oakland is third in the American League Western Division with a record of 74-67.
