Tropicana Field was the site of a tense game between the Houston Astros and Tampa Bay Rays.

The Tampa Bay Rays got a magnificent effort from pitcher José Martínez, who kept Houston hitters in check en route to a 3-1 Rays win at Tropicana Field. Tampa Bay, at 61-85, occupies last place in the American League Eastern Division.

Tampa Bay took a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With two out, right fielder Sancho Huerta hit a 2-run home run that set the crowd abuzz.

"I just try to put up zeroes," said Martínez, "and let the rest take care of itself."
