Rangers Snatch Late Win
The Texas Rangers beat the Cleveland Guardians, 4-3, in part because of third baseman Gilberto López. He was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. Texas reliever Carlos Giles picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Joe White shouldered the loss. The Rangers, at 61-87, sit in last place in the American League Western Division.

Rod Stokes won the game for Texas when homered off Joe White in the bottom of the ninth.
