Mariners Make It 4 In a Row with 7-3 Triumph Over Jacksonville

The Seattle Mariners topped the Jacksonville Bombers, 7-3, in American League action at Bombers Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Seattle center fielder Robbie Lucas. Seattle starter Randy Barrett was credited with the win after throwing 124 pitches over 8.1 innings. His record now stands at 15-12. The triumph puts Seattle at 91-62 for the season.
Helping the Seattle cause was Dewitt Mathews. In the top of the third, the 34-year old first baseman had a run-scoring ground out to make the score 2-0, Mariners.
"Hustle and hard work is a big part of our success," said Lucas. "Those qualities define our team."
