Kansas City designated hitter Luis Díaz contributed to his team's 12-6 win over the Tampa Bay Rays. Díaz, who is tied for 7th in the AL in runs scored with 88, went 4 for 4 with 3 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Royals. Kansas City is now 85-70, while Tampa Bay is 63-92.

Díaz made an early impact for Kansas City when he stroked his 21st double of the season. The run-scoring double, which came in the bottom of the third, put the Royals on top, 3-1.

In his postgame comments, Royals manager Tyler Masters heaped praise on Díaz. "For a young player, he's done a lot of good things for us."
