Texas rode a fine outing from starter Tamwar Taqi to victory over the Toronto Blue Jays at Globe Life Park in Arlington. The final score was 4-2. Taqi went 8.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 3. His record improves to 11-13. Gene Murphy earned the save for Texas, his 23rd.

In the bottom of the seventh, Texas catcher Víctor Cortés hit a run-scoring single to center field. The clutch hit made it, 3-2, Rangers.

"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Cortés said after the game.

The Rangers move to 66-90 with the win, while the Blue Jays drop to 62-94.
