Chávez Fashions No-Hitter Against Guardians
In a dominant outing, Juan Chávez of the Los Angeles (A) Angels totally silenced the bats of the Cleveland Guardians, finishing with a no-hitter.

In the Angels' 4-0 victory, Chávez faced only 29 batters, surrendered no hits, had 11 strikeouts and 1 walk.

"Honestly, I didn't even know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning," Los Angeles (A) manager Jobo Foster said. "I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had gotten, and I happened to notice that they hadn't gotten any."

Commenting on the defeat, losing manager Matt Morgan told reporters in the clubhouse that he had a "simple" analysis of the game.

"The Angels had all the hits and all the runs, so they won," he snapped. "But yeah, Chávez pitched a heck of a ballgame."

This year Chávez has a 17-9 record with a 2.70 ERA in 33 starts.
