Bombers Nip Brewers, 4-3
|
The Jacksonville Bombers topped the Milwaukee Brewers, 4-3, in National League action at Miller Park. The standout performance belonged to Jacksonville pitcher and Woodstock, Illinois, native Doug Kennedy. Kennedy went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 0, and struck out 3. His record improves to 2-0. Eli Clark earned the save, his 2nd.
Jacksonville used a clutch hit from Jake Thomas to get the win. The pinch hitter drilled a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Bombers ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll kick back tonight and enjoy this win," said Kennedy.
Jacksonville is now 3-6.
