The Toronto Blue Jays had to overcome a fine effort from Minnesota pitcher Juan Carlos Arellano to grab a narrow 6-4 win at Target Field. Arellano went 6 innings and allowed no runs. Adrián Hernández got the win, improving to 3-0. He held the Twins to 3 runs on 6 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 9 and walking 2. Jorge Rivera picked up the save for Toronto, his 5th of the year.

Bob Crousse delivered a 3-run home run for Toronto in the top of the first. The first baseman went 3 for 5 in the game, including 1 home run, 1 single, and 1 double. He scored 1 run and batted in 3.

"Nice to tuck this win away," said Crousse.
