Ed McCarthy Captures PC Outstanding Hitter Award Monday, October 7th, 2024 He may have less experience than most of his Pacific Coast League peers, but that didn't slow Ed McCarthy down at all in 2024. At the age of 22, the Colorado Springs right fielder has been named the winner of the Pacific Conference Outstanding Hitter Award. He had a .279 batting average and a .379 on-base percentage this year. In 137 games he piled up 149 hits, 35 doubles, 3 triples, 32 home runs, 97 RBIs and 97 runs scored. "I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year." Mario Gusmán of the El Paso Chihuahuas finished second in voting, while Josh Henderson of the Sacramento River Cats finished third. |
