Round Rock CF Will Miss 2 Games, Suspended by League Tuesday, September 10th , 2041 The league has issued a 2-game suspension to Express center fielder Steve O'Neill for his bad conduct yesterday at the Round Rock-Oklahoma City game at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark. O'Neill was tossed out of the game for heatedly questioning a third-strike call. Once the home plate umpire ejected him, O'Neill ran over to argue more, even though the umpire warned him specifically, "Don't you come over here." O'Neill then retreated to the dugout, where he threw several bats onto the field and followed with a toss of an athletic trainer's bag. Later, O'Neill ran out of the clubhouse tunnel to continue arguing -- a big no-no for a player who has already been thrown out. This season in 130 games, O'Neill has hit at a .273 clip with 141 hits, 20 home runs, 61 RBIs and 75 runs scored. |
