3B Ross Given 2-Game Suspension
Saturday, July 5th, 2025
The suspension of third baseman Dan Ross did not sit well with the Springfield Cardinals. Both Ross and his manager were livid at what both say is an unjustified 2-game suspension issued today by league officials. Ross was suspended for "inappropriate conduct" during a game against the Corpus Christi Hooks yesterday at Whataburger Field.

Ross was ejected from the game for arguing a strike call. "It's not right," he said, adding, "I didn't do anything to deserve this. Eject me, but don't suspend me."

His manager also vented his displeasure. "Arguments go on all the time, face-to-face, and there's not a suspension. To be suspended is ridiculous. That's bull."

Ross did more than just argue the call, he threw his bat at the feet of the umpire and walked off the field. That is the main reason the league suspended him.

So far this season Ross is batting .226 with 1 home run.
