Best Season In TEX Belongs To Trejo
Tuesday, October 7th, 2025
At the age of 20, José Trejo of the Springfield Cardinals could very well have his best years ahead of him.

It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2025 was good enough to win the first baseman the Texas League Outstanding Hitter Award.

"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."

The top hitter put up a .312 batting average this year, as well as a .373 on-base percentage. He played 118 games and racked up 146 hits, 45 doubles, 1 triple, 36 home runs, 115 RBIs and 82 runs scored.

He received 8 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Jorge Ramos of the Corpus Christi Hooks finished second in voting, while Gilberto Martínez of the Arkansas Travelers finished third.
