League Gives White and Ramírez 5-Game Suspensions Friday, May 16th , 2042 Sometimes on the baseball diamond disparaging words are uttered in anger and lead to more than what the players bargained for. That's what happened at yesterday's Visalia Rawhide-Lancaster Jethawks game at Recreation Park. What started off as a war of words ended up a tag team match as both clubs rushed on the field to defend their honor. When the umpires sorted it all out, they ejected Visalia's Chris White and Lancaster's José Ramírez from the game for their roles in starting the melee. Today the players were notified by the league office that they had been suspended 5 games for violating league rules. This year White has socked 21 hits in 93 at-bats for a .226 average with no home runs. He is getting on base at a .405 pace and his totals also include 10 RBIs and 12 runs scored. |
