Mighty Mussels Armstrong Raps 3 Homers Sunday, April 27th , 2042 Fort Myers Mighty Mussels second baseman Benny Armstrong sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Bradenton Marauders, Armstrong told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Armstrong pushed the Mighty Mussels past the Marauders, 10-5. To go along with the homers, he collected 5 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Armstrong told reporters after the game. Benny Armstrong grounded out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Jorge Apodaca in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Esteban Soto in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Jesús Rentería in the 8th. In the 2042 season Armstrong is hitting .404 with 3 home runs. |
