Salem Wins Round 1 Friday, September 27th , 2041 The Salem Red Sox are bound for the Round 2. A 4-3 win over the Augusta GreenJackets at Salem Memorial Baseball Stadium ended the Round 1, 4-1. "We're not trying to get ahead of ourselves, but it's hard not to get pumped up and excited and think about how this season could end," said José Juárez. "This could be the biggest celebration Salem has ever seen if we can win the Round 2." The state of the Low-A East championship remains in doubt, but the Red Sox certainly appear to be strong contenders. Juárez was named MVP of the Round 1 after he posted a .412 batting average, while adding 2 home runs, driving in 8 RBI and scoring 4 runs. The Salem Red Sox will play against the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers in the next round. Kannapolis had a bye in the Round 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
