Wilkinson Raps Brooklyn for 5 Hits Saturday, May 3rd , 2042 The Bowling Green Hot Rods stopped the Brooklyn Cyclones by a score of 7-6 at KeySpan Park today, with the lion's share of the credit going to shortstop Doug Wilkinson. The 34-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits. "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Wilkinson said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard." Wilkinson did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Cyclones. "Not much that I can say," offered Brooklyn manager . "He just hammered the heck out of us." Doug Wilkinson singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 5th, hit a two-run double in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 8th and hit an RBI double in the 9th.
