Vélez and Johnston Fight, Suspended 4 Games Sunday, September 8th , 2041 Bob Vélez of the Greensboro Grasshoppers and Zach Johnston of the Asheville Tourists received official notice today from the league commissioner's office that they had been suspended 4 games for their roles in the on-field disturbance in a recent game at NewBridge Bank Park. In 121 games this season Vélez has compiled a .209 batting average with 88 hits and 27 home runs. He has also scored 74 times and knocked in 81 runs. This year Johnston has collected 1 save in 26 relief appearances. He has also compiled a 3-2 won-lost mark with a 5.22 ERA and fanned 50 batters in 60.1 innings.
