Batavia Loses Raúl Durán, Will Miss Season Wednesday, July 27th, 2033 The doctors have spoken and Raúl Durán of the Batavia Muckdogs didn't like what he heard. The 22-year-old closer is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Durán sustained his season-ending injury during the Lowell Spinners game yesterday at Dwyer Stadium. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Batavia medical staff reported Durán had a torn ulnar collateral ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 9-10 months. Durán has 11 relief appearances this year with 8 saves. Durán has also compiled a 0-0 won-lost mark with a 2.61 ERA. In 10.1 innings he has fanned 12. |
